The Heights Shopping District, Burnaby

Situated in a prime location along the Hastings corridor beginning at Boundary Road and ending at Gamma Avenue. In total there are more than 300 shops, services, medical, dental and professional services located within this district.

From Italian Bakeries and Cafes to Greek Taverns and Sushi Bars, the Burnaby Heights area has everything imaginable for whatever your mood, whether you’re interested in dining or shopping or just exploring.

The Heights Commercial District is ideally located on or near several major Translink routes and traffic arteries. These include Hastings Street, which sees 40,000 cars pass through daily (1.2 million each month) and Highway 1, which efficiently connects the Heights to numerous parts of the Lower Mainland. It is 5 minutes from the North Shore, 20 minutes from Downtown, and 25 minutes from Surrey.

Parking is abundant with 10 free municipal parking just off Hastings (2 hour limit) plenty of parking on the Hastings corridor at non rush hour (note HOV lanes) and along adjoining side streets. The Heights is a very accessible shopping area.

There are bicycle racks on every block in the Heights.

The Heights commercial district has supported businesses for more than 75 years. It is comprised of a vibrant mix of many long-standing independent businesses as well as successful franchises and brand name companies. The flavour is decidedly multi-cultural and the area is well known as one of the most desirable places to live in the Lower Mainland.

The Heights is home to the annual Hat's Off Day every June. It is Burnaby's largest street festival. The festival includes the Heights annual Show and Shine which is one is the lower mainland's  largest  displays of vintage and custom cars.
