Burnaby Events, Fairs and Festivals

Burnaby has many events, fairs and festivals that are held on an annual basis.

The Edmonds area has reason to celebrate with the Edmonds City Fair, the Edmonds Classic Car Show and the Edmonds Festival of Lights each Christmas.

For music lovers of all ages there is the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival and Symphony in the Park held every summer along with various other musical acts performing throughout the year on the scenic lawn at Deer Lake Park.

Burnaby Heights has many events scheduled throughout the year. They include Chinese New Year on the Heights, the Giro di Burnaby bicycle race, Halloween on the Heights, Christmas celebrations which include Light up the Heights and of course, Burnaby’s biggest street festival every June Hats Off Day which also includes the Hats Off Show & Shine.

Confederation Parkis the site for many family picnics and hosts Remembrance Day observances every November.

Christmas at Overlynn Mansion and the Christmas Craft Market at the James Cowan Centre are just two of many annual craft markets held in Burnaby each year.

Burnaby Village has a spooky Halloween with their Haunted Village event and gets into the Christmas Spirit with their Heritage Christmas.

The Nikkei Centre holds its annual Fall Harvest Fair each September at the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre.

The Scandinavian Centre holds various music, cultural events and craft fairs all through the year.

The European Festival is held every August at Central Park in Swangard Stadium.

There is a Farmer’s Market held every Saturday Farmer’s Markets from May through October in the Burnaby City Hall parking lot.

Burnaby also participates in Burnaby Youth Week, Canada Day celebrations, Environment week, Discovery Day, World River Day and has a Rhododendron Festival to name just a few.

Burnaby festivals and events are for both young and old and have something the whole family can enjoy.
